Begonias are easy to grow in bright shade with regular watering. They return a small effort with a whole lot of spectacular foliage.
The bright orange spear is not a flower. It is formed from colorful, modified leaves called bracts. They last for many, many months. The actual flowers are the small, pale yellow tubes arising from between the bracts. The flowers are short-lived and will be gone in a matter of weeks.
